Jesus Atencio has established himself as Venezuela's top cueist, known for an aggressive, high-tempo style. He made a statement at the inaugural 2026 Florida Open Pool Championship, reaching the last 16 after defeating then-world No. 1 Fedor Gorst along the way.

Atencio has since added to his tour résumé with a second WNT ranking title at the Beasley Open, defeating Lukas Fracasso-Verner 11-4 in the final.
